Shops
Keogh’s (Tel: 23522)bar, supermarket & restaurant
is about 1 1/2 miles, in Ballyconneely. This has everything,
including Petrol & diesel facilities.( (turn left
at Ballafada Road T-jct. about 1 1/2 miles). There is
also a local store and post office in Ballyconneely,
called MacWilliams. (Tel: 23974) Open approximately
8.30am until 7pm. Open also Sunday mornings. (Please
check low season) The nearest town is Clifden (turn
right at Ballafada T-jct. about 5 miles) where there
are plenty shops and supermarkets.
Places to eat
There are plenty of high quality restaurants in nearby
Clifden. I can personally recommend the ‘Derryclare’
in Clifden.
(Tel: 095 21450) This serves light snacks at lunchtimes
and beautiful freshly prepared meals in the evening.

Local Churches
The local churches are Catholic - Ballyconneely church,
or Ballinaboy church both 2 miles. In Clifden there
are two churches - St. Joseph’s (Catholic) this
has a tall light grey steeple, and a Church of Ireland
(Protestant) church has a dark grey steeple. For service
